Sad news today

I received a call yesterday from my second err third cousin Gladys that the mommy of my son's friend just died that early Monday morning because of complications in child birth(but the twins are alive, yep you read it right TWINS). Our hearts go out to Pio, just the same age as my son and who's facing his whole life without his mom.
It instantly dawned on me how graceous God is for still giving me the opportunity to be a mom to my son. Life indeed is so short and yet so precious, oftentimes taken for granted. We should all celebrate life and thank our loving father for all the wonderful moments with our loved ones. I'm turning 31 in a few weeks and instead of being sad about it, I'm just so thankful that I've reached this age(some were not as fortunate).
When you know that life can be taken anytime: problems become trivial, God and family become a priority, time is focused on helping others in need and in building/nurturing relationships, appreciating little things, you become prayerful, loving and completely dependent on God alone.
I hope when it's time for me to leave my husband and son behind, we'll all accept it with an open heart knowing all of us are in God's loving arms.
