Overcoming fear

Last September 2, we were blessed to have our brand new bicycles (the very first one for our son Hans). Now, after a few weeks of riding his bike almost every afternoon, Hans is able to enjoy his bike along the bumps, humps and uneven path in our neighborhood. After several knee cuts and bruises, he is able to stand up, pick up his bike and pedal again.

Then later that day, to show his appreciation for the bike we bought him, Hansy sang one of the songs he learned in school...
Mahal kita mommy, mahal kita
Hindi ko babayaan mawala sa buhay
Mommy, mommy
Mahal kita

Also in the early days of September, my son was able to overcome his fear of the Monkey bars. With the help of his teacher Jan and his classmates and friends during outdoor play, he proudly and confidently showed me how he was able to climb, swing and release from the monkey bars. I remember that in the previous months, he would totally avoid going near the monkey bar and he would rather play in the sandbox and slide, eventhough all the other kids were climbing the metal bars.
